Who We Are
Kitchen Sink Creative Group is made up of the husband and wife team of Richard Kirby and Jean Campbell. We are based in Homewood, Alabama, and together, we have more than 45 years of combined creative experience.
As Kitchen Sink Creative Group, we work together to go above and beyond our clients' expectations. Our goal is to have a "win-win" relationship with each and every one of our clients, and we take pride in working closely with our clients to best determine their needs and how we can fulfill them.
Jean Campbell
Classic and contemporary, with a large dose of fantasy thrown in for good measure, graphic artist and designer Jean Campbell has been bringing imagination to the computer screen since 1988. Her experience and imagination are the driving forces behind Kitchen Sink Creative Group.
Born in London, England, to a military family, Jean grew up in Hawaii, New Jersey, and Florida before returning to her parents' home state of Alabama. She attended the University of Montevallo, where she graduated with a degree in fine arts. Following college, marriage, and two daughters, Jean returned to the Birmingham area, working both in fine arts and a new discipline: Digital artwork on the computer. She worked with several leading software companies in the region, creating illustrations, animations, and web presences for clients such as United Cerebral Palsy, Digital Equipment Corp., and Intel. She has also had a number of her paintings featured in galleries and exhibitions in the area.
With KSCG, Jean is working to bring her particular brand of design and artwork to a broader audience on the internet. "I really believe in bringing imagination to life," she says. "I enjoy working with clients to come up with a concept, then taking all the bits and pieces and putting them together to come up with a fantastic image."
Jean also practices yoga on a daily basis and is a certified yoga instructor. She also makes up 1/2 of the combo known as After 2 Glasses with Paul Walters. She has two daughters, Melissa and Caroline. She and Richard Kirby were married in June, 2007.
Richard Kirby
Richard Kirby is the resident wordsmith, technical maestro, and jack-of-all-trades at Kitchen Sink Creative Group. A long-time writer with a background in marketing and journalism, Richard writes copy for kitchensinkcreativegroup.com and also takes many of the pictures Jean uses in her photo compositions.
Born in Anniston, Alabama, Richard grew up in the Birmingham area and attended Auburn University where he studied journalism. After college and several years in the newspaper industry in Mississippi, Richard returned to Birmingham and worked in marketing and the service industry before joining Jean and embarking on a new full-time career with Kitchen Sink Creative Group.
With his diverse professional background, Richard brings a wide variety of talents for Kitchen Sink's clients to tap into. In addition to his web design work, he can often be found creating layouts for print newsletters, working with social media, and figuring out that perfect way to get a client's message across to a specific audience.
Richard enjoys amateur photography and often lugs around an old Minolta 35mm film camera on camping and canoeing trips. He has two daughters, Katherine and Juliana. He married Jean Campbell in 2007, and they live in the Birmingham area.
